Salisbury's Narum & Beck Claim CAC Women's Soccer Weekly Accolades

CAC -- The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its weekly awards following the seventh week of the 2019 women's soccer season. Salisbury senior forward/midfielder Lydia Narum earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Salisbury defender Jenna Beck claimed CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lydia Narum - Salisbury

Salisbury senior forward/midfielder Lydia Narum notched three goals on the week to push her scoring streak to three games and help Salisbury remain undefeated in conference play. Narum tallied two goals in Salisbury's 4-0 win on Wednesday over York, including a long-range shot from 40-yards out that sailed over the keeper's head and into the back of the net. Narum sits in a tie for second in the CAC in goals (7) and fifth in points (14).


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jenna Beck - Salisbury

Salisbury defender Jenna Beck paced the Salisbury defense with two wins on the week, including a 5-2 upset over the third-ranked Christopher Newport Captains on Saturday. Beck tallied her first assist of the season in Salisbury's 4-0 win on Wednesday over York. Beck and the rest of the Salisbury back line made things easier for goalkeeper Emma Hill as she only faced nine shots on goal in two games on the week.

LEAGUE NOTES

York junior Cat McCarty picked up her first win and first shutout of the year with her clean sheet against Mary Washington on Saturday as she made nine saves in the victory...Ally Badman scored the game-wining goal in the 1-0 win over Mary Washington on Saturday in York. It was the third goal of the year for the senior captain...Audra Haines started both games in goal in a week where St. Mary's finished 1-1. The freshman goalkeeper collected six saves in a loss to Christopher Newport and recorded her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over Southern Virginia. In addition, Haines gathered two saves against the Knights...Lauren Giron collected two points this week with a game-winning goal against Southern Virginia. Giron fired off a shot with 20 seconds left that sailed into the back of the cage for the Seahawk victory...Mary Washington junior Anna Longacher scored a pair of goals as Mary Washington topped Southern Virginia on Wednesday.
