Five Programs Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Five soccer programs from the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) have been named recipients of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 season.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster. 
 
A total of 989 college teams (345 men, 644 women) earned the Team Academic Award. Among the recipients, 255 schools had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients, including Salisbury University

York College of Pennsylvania led the conference with a 3.59 GPA from their women's program, while the Christopher Newport University and Salisbury University women both recorded 3.45 marks, while St. Mary's College of Maryland rounded out the women's group with a 3.31 cumulative grade-point average.

Salisbury was the lone representative from the league on the men's side as the Sea Gulls posted a 3.18 GPA.
