
Christopher Newport's Beegle and Daniel Claim C2C Women's Soccer Player of the Week Accolades
The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of the 2022 women's soccer season. Christopher Newport senior forward Molly Beegle earned C2C Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Captain sophomore goalkeeper Jaya Daniel claimed C2C Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Christopher Newport's Molly Beegle scored the game-winning goal against Mary Washington in the final ten minutes of the game at home.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jaya Daniel - Christopher Newport
Christopher Newport's Jaya Daniel played all 180 minutes in two games against Mary Washington this week, earning a pair of shutouts against the Eagles. Daniel made eight saves (4.0/game), kept one of the league's most dangerous offenses off the board, and added to shutout streak that currently ranks sixth in program history with over 516 minutes without allowing a goal. Daniel continues to add to her program record run to start a career, with a 13-0-0 record this season added to a 1-0-0 start last year for 14 straight wins to open her tenure in goal.

C2C HIGHLIGHTS
UC Santa Cruz freshman midfielder Tatiana Fernandez scored a pair of goals in the Banana Slugs' 3-0 win against Lincoln on Tuesday, Oct. 18th, while hitting both shots on target. Sophomore defender Emily De Los Santos started both games at outside back this week playing 169 of the 180 minutes with several interceptions as well as starting offensive sequences from the wing...Pratt Institute's Katherine Thomsen recorded her fourth hat trick of the season, scoring three goals in a losing effort at New Jersey City. Thomsen still held the NCAA Division III lead in goals scored entering the weekend and boosted her season tally to 24...Salisbury senior forward Autumn Dougherty scored two goals in the Sea Gulls' clash with No. 9 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday. Dougherty used her speed to slice past the Tartan's defense both times and ripped her shots past the keeper. Her two goals moved her into a tie for ninth all-time for career goals in program history (21)...Mary Washington senior goalie Ally Holden turned in two quality starts this week for Mary Washington against #1 ranked Christopher Newport, allowing one goal in both contests in the home-and-home matchups, recording two saves in the opener and adding eight on Saturday in Fredericksburg. Holden posted an .833 save percentage.
