Salisbury freshman NATALIE SAVAGE (Port Murray, N.J./Warren Hills) was selected as the CAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week after going undefeated last week, including two in the Gulls’ victory over future CAC rival Christopher Newport. Savage won her singles match against the 14th-ranked team in the region in straight sets, and had an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles with Roxanne Alban against the Captains.

Mary Washington freshman SHELBY HARRIS (Newport News, Va./Hampton Academy) was selected as the CAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week after winning two singles matches and two doubles matches in the Noreaster Bowl in Boston, a tournament that included eight nationally-ranked teams. Her singles victories were against 27th-ranked Wellesley and 26th-ranked Brandeis.

Salisbury senior ELAINA IOSUE (Damascus, Md./Damascus) was selected as the CAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 2, 2013, after helping the Sea Gulls extend their win streak to 11 matches with two singles victories and two doubles victories. Iosue dropped only two games in her two singles victories and posted a pair of 8-0 victories in doubles action with different partners.

She dropped just two games in a straight-sets singles victory, then added an 8-1 No. 1 doubles win with Jillian Poppe, in Salisbury’s CAC triumph over York Savage is 5-1 in both singles and doubles this season.

Salisbury sophomore ROXANNE ALBAN (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) was selected as the CAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for March 12, 2013. Alban went 2-0 at both No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles last week, helping the Sea Gulls defeat Va. Wesleyan and Roanoke. She dropped only six games on the way to a pair of straight-set singles wins.

Mary Washington junior LINDSAY RAULSTON (Franklin, Va./Southampton Academy) was selected as the CAC Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for March 26, 2013. Raulston improved her season singles record to 8-0 with straight-set wins over All-Americans Amy Schlessman of Kenyon and Katie Cecil of Carnegie Mellon, who are both above Raulston in this year’s individual rankings.
