Five CAC student-athletes have been selected to the 2017-18 Google Cooud Academic All-District Men's & Women's At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes from eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

On the men's side, St. Mary's senior swimmer Benjamin Ertman was selected to the Academic All-District Team. Ertman is a senior Chinese / Psychology major with a 3.94 GPA.

Four CAC women's student-athletes earn spots on the squad, two swimmers and two tennis players. Mary Washington senior swimmer Megan Murphy and senior tennis player Kait Brogan made their way onto the team. Murphy is a Philosophy major with a 3.98 GPA while Brogan is a Biology / Geography major with a 3.66 GPA.

Frostburg State junior women's swimmer Maddie Weinberger and St. Mary's senior women's tennis player Melissa Barall also received the accolade. Weinberger boasts a 4.0 GPA in Athletic Training while Barall also holds a 4.0 GPA with majors in Economics / Political Science / Public Policy Studies.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in June.
