FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Salisbury's Annika Kezman & Mary Washington's Moses Hutchison earned CAC Tennis Player of the Week honors for April 9, 2019.  

Women's Player of the Week

Salisbury junior Annika Kezman earned two singles and two doubles wins in Salisbury's two CAC victories this past weekend. Against Southern Virginia, Kezman and Laura Brown won at No. 1 doubles by an 8-5 score and Kezman took a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. Against Frostburg State, Kezman and Brown won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles before Kezman picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.

Men's Player of the Week

Moses Hutchison | Mary Washington | So.

Mary Washington sophomore Moses Hutchison turned in an undefeated weekend as Mary Washington topped York and Penn Staate Harrisburg in CAC play, and fell, 5-4, to #15 Carnegie Mellon. In singles at number three, he topped Jared Gluck of Harrisburg, 6-1, 6-0, and Robert Levin of Carnegie Mellon, 7-5, 6-3. In doubles, he teamed with Matt Miles to take down Harrisburg and Carnegie Mellon by 8-2 scores at one doubles.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

St. Mary's Jon Gorel went 4-0 on the weekend with 2 wins coming in doubles and 2 coming in singles play against Penn State Harrisburg all while playing in the number one spot for both...Salisbury's Stefan Hein earned three wins in Salisbury's two CAC victories this past weekend. Against Southern Virginia, the reigning CAC Rookie of the Year picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles as part of a 6-3 Salisbury victory. Against Frostburg State, Hein teamed with Alec Angradi to earn an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles before taking a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles...Christopher Newport's Reagan Delp went 2-0 in singles this week with a 6-0, 6-0 win at Frostburg at No. 3 singles before picking up a 7-6 (3), 0-6, 1-0 (10-5) win at No. 5 singles against No. 10 Carnegie Mellon...York's Rachel Wagner earned a singles win and a doubles win in her lone match against St. Mary's on Sunday. Wagner teamed with Gina Liguori to earn an 8-2 first doubles win against the Seahawks. She then earned a 6-2, 6-1 first singles win for the Spartans. For the season, Wagner is 7-1 in singles play while she also owns a 4-2 doubles record with Liguori. Wagner is second all-time in singles wins with 35...#12 Mary Washington women topped York and Penn State Harrisburg in CAC action before falling to #10 Carnegie Mellon over the weekend, snapping an eight-match winning streak.
