Erick Camodeca Named Head Coach Of York College's Men's And Women's Cross Country And Track & Field Teams

The York College athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Erick Camodeca as the head coach of the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field programs. Camodeca, who has been at the helm of the men’s track & field squad for the previous three campaigns, becomes the school’s seventh full-time head coach.

Wesley freshman SHARIS ALLEN (Dover, Del./Dover) was named the CAC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week after breaking her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles at the Rowan Open. Allen crossed the finish line in sixth place in 16.80, one tenth of a second lower than her previous school mark. She also finished fourth in the long jump.

Wesley freshman JESSICA CURRY-KEITH (Claymont, Del.) was named the CAC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week after registering four Top 10 finishes at the Richard Stockton Osprey Open. She was third overall in the 100 hurdles (17.37) and contributed to a third-place 400 meter relay (57.08). Her fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (13.80) was within .03 seconds of the Wolverines’ team record, and she added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (4.32m).

York senior MELODY PARSHALL (Dover, Pa./Home Schooled) was named the CAC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week after she won the 5,000-meter run twice last week. She started with a 19:52.08 performance in a four-team midweek meet at York, then lowered her time by almost four seconds in winning the event at the Goucher Classic.

Wesley freshman SHARIS ALLEN (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) was named the CAC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week after contributing to three school records in a weekend meet at West Chester (Pa.). Allen broke the Wolverines’ mark in the 100-meter dash (16.92), then contributed to record-setting 400 (54.31) and 1,600 (4:43.16) meter relay teams.

York sophomore MEGAN VERDE (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) was named the CAC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week after leading the Spartans in their own invitational to open the outdoor season. Competing in the six-team event, Verde took top honors in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.37 meters despite the rainy, slippery, windy conditions, and followed up with a 4.13-meter effort to finish second in the long jump.
