Christopher Newport Claims Second Straight CAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Title

2014 CAC Outdoor Championship Results 

Christopher Newport secured its second straight CAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday in York, Pa., totaling 148 points throughout the two-day meet to outlast Salisbury, Mary Washington and Wesley for the team crown. 

Salisbury tallied 125.16 points to narrowly edge out Mary Washington (124) for second place, while Wesley (107.5), York (70), Frostburg State (41) and Penn State Harrisburg (4.33) rounded out the team standings. 

Enuma Ezenwa and Logan Harrington paced CNU as each grabbed a pair of individual gold-medal finishes on Sunday. Ezenwa broke her own championship meet record in the 400 hurdles with a mark of 1:03.66, and also finished first in the 100 hurdles at 14.77. In Saturday's 100 hurdle prelims, Ezenwa broke her own conference and championship meet record at 14.53. Harrington took top honors in the 1,500 (4:46.99) and 800 (2:19.36). Lydia Cromwell rounded out the Captains' first-place finishes in the 3,000 steeplechase at 11:44.88. 

Salisbury's Meghan McGowan broke her own championship meet record in the high jump with a leap of 5'-05.75", helping the Sea Gulls nab second place as a team. 

Mary Washington had a trio of first-place finishes on Sunday, with Sheree Turner taking first in the hammer throw (151'-11"), Taylor Cockerille in the discus (134'-00") and Janel Moore in the 100 meter dash (12.38). 

Wesley's Elizsha Streeter put together an impressive meet, capturing two individual golds and combining for two relay wins. Streeter won the 400 meters (57.72) and 200 meters (25.46), and was a part of winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Kameko Webb also claimed gold for the Wolverines, jumping 17'-11.00" in the long jump. 

York's Caroline DeLany won the 5,000 meters in 18:56.62.
