Complete WT&F/XC All-America Team

Mary Washington senior Claire Harrington was named a first team Women's Track and Field Academic All-America selection by Capital One and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced on Tuesday morning. 

With the honor Harrington becomes the 11th Capital One Academic All-American in UMW history and the first first-team selection in 20 years. She is the third UMW track & field athlete to earn the award. UMW's most recent Academic All-America selection came in 2009, when track & field standout Justin German was named to the third team. 

Harrington graduated in May with a perfect 4.0 grade point average with a bachelor of science in Biology. She holds the UMW school record in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault. She was named one of three valedictorians at the school.
