The Christopher Newport women's track & field team collected its fourth consecutive CAC championship on Saturday as the Captains notched seven individual titles in the 20 events at Mary Washington. 

CNU totaled 208.5 points, defeating runner-up Wesley (155) by over 50 points. Salisbury took third with 132 points, while York (120), Mary Washington (86.5), Frostburg State (65), and Penn State Harrisburg (3) rounded out the team scoring. 

A pair of championship meet records fell throughout the two-day event. Salisbury's Meghan McGowan won the high jump for the fourth straight year with a mark of 1.71 meters, topping her previous record of 1.67m that she set in 2015. CNU's Hannah Shoemaker set a new championship record in the shot put at 13.96 meters. 

Logan Harrington led the way for CNU with a trio of first-place finishes. Harrington collected gold in the 800 (2:18.90) and 1,500 (4:50.70) for the third straight year, and also teamed with Victoria Neston, Monica Lannen, and Kaitlynn Beaulieu for for a victory in the 4x400 after the foursome finished in 4:07.92.

Other individual champions for the Captains included Emmie Schmitt in the 10,000 (39:21.85), Molly McCabe in the 100 hurdles (14.89), and Sarah Johnson in the discus (40.28m). 

Wesley was led by a pair of first-place finishes from Jasmine Brown, who took gold in the long jump (5.45m) and triple jump (11.10m). Angel Hall won the 400 for the Wolverines with a time of 58.19, and also teamed with Ashley Morris, Elizsha Streeter, and Briana Artis for top honors in the 4x100 relay at 48.61. 

Frostburg State's Kayla Truesdel won both the 100 (12.61) and 200 (25.92) to pace the Bobcats, while FSU's Zoe Harris also claimed gold for the Bobcats in the javelin (37.52m).

York collected a trio of first-place marks, with Kathleen Cannon in the 5,000 (18:38.14), Emily Plante in the 400 hurdles (1:016.75), and Alayna DeBruin in the 3,000 steeplechase all earning top placings. 

Other first-place finishers included Salisbury's Kyleigh Dumas in the pole vault (3.30m) and Mary Washington's Samantha Gordon in the hammer throw (44.07m).
