Mary Washington's Erin Andrewlevich & Penn State Harrisburg's Rae Rae Taylor Earn CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week Honors

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- ​Mary Washington's Erin Andrewlevich & Penn State Harrisburg's Rae Rae Taylor were honored as the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Jan. 29, 2019.

​Mary Washington's Erin Andrewlevich gained two top-eights at the George Mason Invitational, securing a third place finish in the women's 60 meter dash with a time of 7.94, just .04 away from defeating two VCU runners. Andrewleich also took an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash at 26.61.

Penn State Harrisburg's Rae Rae Taylor had an outstanding night at Bucknells Bison Open and Multi on Friday, as she racked up 3,353 points in the pentathlon after winning four of the five events and breaking a pair of program records in the process. The sophomore won the high jump portion with a top leap of 1.60 meters, the shot put stage thanks to her best toss of 10.93 meters, the long jump portion with a top bound of 5.28 meters and the 800m run thanks to a time of 2:34.28. Her high jump mark and 800m effort also set a new standard in the program's record book. Taylor's total score is good enough to currently rank her 10th in the nation in the event.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury's Jamie Farley continued her solid season for the Sea Gulls posting a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash the George Mason University Open. Farley came home in a time of 1:00.41 to earn the finish...York's Jordan Haberstroh had a strong performance at the Bucknell Bison Open on Saturday. Haberstroh finished second in the 3000 meter run as she crossed the line in a time of 10:31.44...Frostburg State's Sarah McCurry took home seventh place in the 3,000-meter run (12:22.09) at the Edinboro Dome Al Hall Freedom Games...A week after posting the top time in the conference in the mile, Christopher Newport's Monica Lannen took over the league lead in the 800 during the Captains Invitational on Saturday. During the meet, the junior won the race with a time of 2:21.60, which is over three seconds faster than the next closest clocking in the CAC this season. It also places her eighth on the program?s all-time performance list...Salisbury's Kyleigh Dumas posted a solid outing at the George Mason University Open this weekend garnering a third-place finish in the pole vault. Dumas cleared the bar at a height of 11' 5.75" to earn the top-three finish...York's Sydney Fitzwater had another strong showing at the Bucknell Bison Open as she finished eighth in the weight throw with a best toss of 14.38 meters. Fitzwater was the only Division III thrower to make the finals of the weight throw...Last week's CAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week built on her previous performance, Southern Virginia's Baylee Mulitalo placed fourth in a loaded field in the shot put with a new school record and personal best 12.99m at the Finn Pincus Invitational. The throw currently places her 15th nationally.
