Stevenson Volleyball Team Drops 3-0 Decision at Bethany In First Round Of ECAC South Tournament

Gabbard totaled nine kills and five service aces, but
Bethany totaled 32 kills and 14 total blocks en route to a 25-21,
25-21, 25-20 victory over the Mustangs Wednesday night in the first
round of the ECAC Division III South Championship at Hummel Field
House.
With the loss, Stevenson (25-9) finishes the season with the
second-most wins in school history behind the 2008 team that won 32
and advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC South Championship.
Gabbard finishes the season with a team-high 353 kills and has
totaled 673 in just two seasons with the Mustangs.
Meanwhile, senior Alex Mercer had seven kills to
conclude her final season with 283 kills and her career with a
school record 1,055. The two-time All-CAC selection also finishes
as the school's career leader in total blocks.
Junior Alexa Carney had six kills and 10 digs
while junior Brooke Gilley added three.
Freshman Jessica Gieselman had 22 assists.
Carrie Talkington had 10 kills and five total blocks to lead the
Bison (22-13) while Taylor Cassidy had seven kills and five digs.
Jessica Zavatchen had 26 assists, four digs and three total
blocks.
