Peter Letourneau, the winningest coach in the history of the Frostburg State volleyball program, has announced that he will be leaving FSU to become the new women's volleyball head coach at California University of Pennsylvania.

Letourneau will start at Cal (Pa.) in the coming weeks while his wife and assistant coach Barbara Letourneau will remain at FSU to coach the team during spring practice.

Letourneau transformed FSU into a regional power and guided the program to new heights during his six years at the helm. He led the Bobcats to four-straight conference tournament titles as a member of the both the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and Capital Athletic Conference.

FSU appeared in four-consecutive NCAA Tournaments from 2007-10. This past fall, the Bobcats hosted an NCAA Regional and advanced to the regional championship for the first time in school history.

Letourneau won 144 matches during his tenure with a impressive 93 victories over the past three seasons. The Bobcats won 30 or more games in each of the last two years and were a perfect 18-0 in conference action during that time.

Letourneau, the 2009 AVCA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, has helped his student-athletes to numerous individual awards over the last six years. Bobcat players have earned 15 all-conference awards between the AMCC and CAC. Former FSU standouts Brooke Winterling and Sarah Stephens and current junior Kylie Carrington were named AVCA All-Americans, the only three in school history. Letourneau's focus was also on academics as both Winterling and Stephens earned Academic All-American honors during their FSU careers.
