Salisbury Volleyball Shut Out At Christopher Newport In 2nd Round Of NCAA Championship Tournament
CAC champion Salisbury suffered a season-ending 3-0 shutout setback at Christopher Newport Saturday in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
Salisbury, which ends the season with a 32-4 overall record, was eliminated by the host Captains by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-21.
Bailey Jenson led the winners with 11 kills, a .647 hitting percentage and eight blocks. Jessie Heavenrich contributed a team-high 29 assists and added 10 digs.
Salisbury was led by Kelly Vieira and Sam Seifert, each with five kills. Michelle Meehan led the Sea Gull defense with 17 digs.
