Third-Seeded Marymount Falls to Top-Seeded Lebanon Valley in ECAC Southeast Championship

Third-seeded Marymount dropped a 3-1 decision to host and top-seeded Lebanon Valley in the ECAC Southeast Volleyball Championship on Saturday night in Annville, Pa. Set scores were 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 25-19. 

The Saints season comes to a close at 28-10, while LVC concludes the year at 28-7. 

Morgan McAlpin and Cailyn Thomas each led the Marymount attack with 11 kills apiece, while Ashley Cabrera recorded 20 assists and 10 digs in the loss. 

Earlier in the day in the semifinal round: 

McAlpin knocked down 18 kills while Emileigh Rettig added 17 to lead the third-seeded Saints (28-10) to a 3-1 victory over second-seeded Swarthmore in the 2014 ECAC Southeast Region Volleyball Championship Tournament semifinals at Lebanon Valley College Saturday.

The Saints, who tied for second place in the CAC regular-season standings, advanced to the ECAC Tournament championship for the second-straight year.  MU, which lost to top-seeded host Bethany (W.Va.) in the 2013 championship match, will face host LVC Saturday night for the tournament title.

Marymount defeated Swarthmore by set scores of 28-26, 26-24, 24-26 and 25-18.
