Christopher Newport Volleyball To Host NCAA Regional, Will Meet Gallaudet in Opening Round
The Christopher Newport volleyball team was selected to host an eight-team NCAA Regional Tournament from Friday, Nov. 14 to Sunday, Nov. 16 at the Freeman Center in Newport News, Va.
CNU (31-3), which captured its second straight CAC title last Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Salisbury, will open the regional tournament against Gallaudet (22-13). Gallaudet earned an automatic bid from the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
Other matchups in the eight-team regional at Christopher Newport include Stevenson (29-5) vs. Richard Stockton (28-6), SUNY New Paltz (31-5) vs. Haverford (21-9), and Eastern (29-5) vs. Salem (25-6).
The winner of the regional will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals on Nov. 21, also to be held in Newport News. The NCAA semifinals are set for Nov. 22, with the national championship game on Nov. 23.
Game times for NCAA matchups will be announced within the next few days.
