Christopher Newports Volleyball Falls to Randolph-Macon, 3-2, in NCAA Second Round

The fifth-ranked Christopher Newport volleyball team bowed out of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon as the Captains dropped a hard-fought decision to Randolph-Macon, 3-2 (21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 15-13), in second round action at the Stockton Sports Center in Galloway, N.J.

Senior Abby McIntyre roped 19 kills and collected 22 digs to lead the Captains, while Rachel Conway dished out 50 assists to go along with seven digs. Rachel Close registered 22 digs, Maddie McCann notched 16 kills, and Ashley Rock chipped in with seven kills, five aces, and two blocks. 

The loss caps off CNU's years with a 30-3 record. Randolph-Macon improves to 27-7 and advances to the Regional Championship match, which will be played on Sunday.
