No. 14 Mary Washington picked up a thrilling 3-2 victory over No. 18 Christopher Newport on Friday in Newport News, Va. to take control of first place in the CAC volleyball standings, while Salisbury and York each posted 2-0 CAC weekends to highlight action around the conference. 

Now more than halfway through the CAC regular season, UMW sits in first place at 5-0 as the lone remaining unbeaten. Salisbury (5-1 CAC) and Marymount (4-1) each boast one loss in CAC play, while CNU and St. Mary's are both 3-2, and York is .500 at 3-3. 

• On Friday, No. 14 Mary Washington downed No. 18 Christopher Newport 3-2 before falling in non-conference play to No. 4 Southwestern (Texas) in Newport News, Va. The Eagles improved to 22-2 overall and 5-0 in the CAC with the 1-1 Friday record. Freshman Savannah Powers once again led the Eagles vs. CNU with 16 kills and 11 digs, while senior Emma Olson had 44 assists, nine digs, five kills, and two block assists. 
• Salisbury blanked Marymount 3-0 on Friday and downed St. Mary's 3-1 on Saturday in a pair of home contests. Against Marymount, Nicole Venturelli totaled a match-high 10 kills while Rachel Dubbs tallied a match-best .500 hitting percentage. Against St. Mary's, Venturelli notched 21 kills and eight digs while Katie Stouffer posted a double-double with 18 kills and 10 digs. 
• York edged Southern Virginia 3-2 on Friday before securing a 3-0 sweep of Frostburg State on Saturday, both in York, Pa. Against SVU, Eryn Brady and Kelly Cavey each posted 12 kills to lead the attack, while Hannah McMaster notcheed nine kills and 19 digs. A balanced effort led the Spartans vs. Frostburg State, with Brady securing a team-high eight kills and Alexis Harbold totaling 20 digs.
