CoSIDA Academic All-America Volleyball Team

Salisbury volleyball senior Katie Stouffer was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday. It marks the second straight Academic All-America accolade for Stouffer, who collected third team recognition last year. 

With the honor, Stouffer becomes the first CAC student-athlete to receive Academic All-America recognition in the 2016-17 season. She is the 30th Sea Gull to earn Academic All-America honors since Salisbury has been a member of the CAC, and the 96th Academic All-American in CAC history.   

Stouffer excelled off the court in the classroom posting a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average as an Early Childhood Education major. 

The CAC Player of the Year, she completed her senior season with 444 kills and a CAC best 4.48 kills per set. Stouffer also ranked 25th nationally in kills and 12th in the nation in kills per set. Her 444 kills ranks fourth in Salisbury history for a single season. She is also the all-time kills leader in Salisbury history with 1,747. 

This is the seventh postseason award and second academic award Stouffer has garnished adding to her long list of accolades. Stouffer was recognized twice by the AVCA being named to the AVCA Division III All-America Third Team and the All-North Region Team while also being named CAC Player of the Year and named first team All-CAC for the fourth straight season. She earned recognition from the ECAC as she was named Offensive Player of the Year.
