2017 CAC Volleyball Tournament Bracket

Top-seeded Christopher Newport outlasted second-seeded Mary Washington 3-2 in a back-and-forth CAC Volleyball Championship match on Saturday at the Freeman Center. Game scores were 26-28, 25-18, 25-19, 13-25, 15-10.

It marks the fourth CAC title for the Captains in the last five years. CNU (27-3) avenged last year's loss in the championship to the Eagles (19-10). The Captains earned the CAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the victory. NCAA selections will be announced during Monday's NCAA Selection show, which will air live on NCAA.com at 12:30 p.m.

Katie Piper led the Captains with 20 kills and 16 digs for her eighth double-double of the season, while Josie Lucernoni notched a team-high 27 digs for CNU. The Eagles were paced by Peyton Dunow's 17 kills in the loss.
