Marymount Knocked Off by Westminster (Pa.) in ECAC Volleyball Semifinals

Marymount women's volleyball senior Christy Tieman totaled 21 assists and a season-high 13 digs in the final match of her career as the Saints fell to Westminster (Pa.) in five sets, 18-25, 25-11, 25-18, 17-25, 18-16, in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III Women's Volleyball Championship Sunday at Frostburg State's Bobcat Arena.

Marymount (16-15), who went 5-4 in five-set matches this season, finishes the year with a winning record for the sixth-straight season under head coach Beth Ann Wilson.

The Titans (30-6) went on to sweep FDU-Florham in the championship match.

Tieman finished her career with 1,638 assists, an average of 4.75 per set, and 600 digs.

Junior Caroline Hanson tied a career-high with 18 kills on 52 attempts while adding 14 assists and seven digs. She was one of three Saints with at least 10 kills as freshman Myah Cordrey had 12 and junior Emily Abramaitys had 11 to go along with a career-high 15 digs.

Marymount defeated Arcadia 3-2 on Saturday to advanced to the semifinals. Also on Saturday, Frostburg State saw its season come to a close at 16-12 with a 3-2 loss to Westminster.
