CAC -- The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) has announced its weekly awards following the second week of the 2019 women's volleyball season. For the second straight week, Salisbury sophomore outside hitter Amanda Chew earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Salisbury defensive specialist Hailey Dougherty claimed CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Amanda Chew - Salisbury

Salisbury sophomore outside hitter Amanda Chew was a unanimous choice for the Randolph-Macon Invitational All-Tournament Team over the weekend after collecting 56 kills (4.00 per set), 27 digs (2.64 per set), five blocks and four service aces in three matches to help Salisbury remain undefeated to start the season. Chew registered a career-high 22 kills in Salisbury's 3-1 win over Averett on Friday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hailey Dougherty - Salisbury

Salisbury senior defensive specialist Hailey Dougherty dug out 56 attacks (4.00 digs/set) in three matches at the Randolph-Macon Invitational to help pace the Salisbury defense to three wins over Averett, Randolph Macon and Marymount at the tournament.

LEAGUE NOTES

Peyton Dunow scored 14 kills against three errors in 35 attempts for a .314 average in Mary Washington's loss to Randolph-Macon on Wednesday night. She also posted 16 digs for the Eagles...Chanel Lucas led St. Mary's to a 2-2 week with victories over Eastern Mennonite (3-1) and Nuemann (3-2). Lucas tallied a team-best 37 kills, while adding one service ace and 28 digs...Ellyse Sutliff led the Seahawks to a 2-2 record on the week, collecting a team-best 13 total blocks, while adding 23 digs and 31 kills...Southern Virginia's Kaely Rath was key in the Knights' effort in winning the Washington and Lee Invitational with victories over Gettysburg and then host Washington and Lee and was named the Invitational's MVP. The Knights posted a 3-1 record on the week with her averaging 16 kills per game and hitting at a .241 clip.
