UMW's Landy And Green Earn All-Regional Recognition As The CAC Women's Cross Country Teams Competed At The 2012 NCAA Regional Championships

Mary Washington’s Tara Landy And Liz Green earned all-region honors, leading the CAC participation in the 2012 NCAA Regional women’s cross country championship races Saturday.

FROSTBURG STATE women ranked 44th overall at the NCAA Mideast Regional meet this past weekend.  Sophomore Bryn Allston achieved a personal best, finishing the course in 26:52.7.  Sophomore Gabbi Maher ran the course in 27:59.9.

Jessica Daly finished first for MARYMOUNT, finishing in 96th place in 24:45.10.  Trailing Daly was Payton Bodecker at 26:24.93 for 114th place.

MARY WASHINGTON is ranked 9th in the South/Southeast Region following this weekend’s meet.  Sophomore Tara Landy obtained all-region honors, finishing 19th overall in 23:32.  Junior Liz Green also was named for all-region honors.  Green finished the course in 23:51 for a 27th place overall.

SALISBURY sophomore Hailey Spinapont was first to cross the line for the Seagulls at 23:40.5, the highest finish for the women since 2007.  Senior Jessie Early concluded her collegiate racing career with a 25:57.7 finish.

YORK women placed 13th overall, up one spot from last year’s regional meet.  The Spartans were led for the first time this season by sophomore Caroline DeLany.  She finished in 46th place with a time of 24:00.4.  Fellow sophomore Jess Miller placed 53rd overall with a time of 24:11.4.
