Mary Washington's Weisbeck, York's Haberstroh & LoBianco Collect Major Awards on 2018 All-CAC Women's Cross Country Team

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Mary Washington's Jillian Weisbeck and York's Jordan Haberstroh and Stephen LoBianco claimed top awards to headline the 2018 All-CAC Women's Cross Country Team. Team-champion York led the way with five all-conference honorees, followed by Christopher Newport (4), Mary Washington (3), Salisbury (2), and Southern Virginia and St. Mary's with one apiece.

UMW's Weisbeck raced her way to a first-place individual finish and CAC Athlete of the Year honors at last Saturday's championship meet. The senior became the 11th Eagle to claim the conference's top honor as the meet champion, and first since 2014.

York's Haberstroh collected Rookie of the Year accolades for the Spartans as the top newcomer at the championship. Haberstroh is the fourth Spartan to win the award. LoBianco, York's head coach, also took home a major award, earning Coach of the Year honors for the third consecutive season after guiding the Spartans to the team title for the third year in a row.

Team-champion York posted another well-balanced effort to secure its third-straight championship. Senior Alayna DeBruin paced the Spartans with a fourth-place finish to secure All-CAC recognition for the third-straight season. DeBruin was a second-teamer in 2017 and first-teamer in 2016 as a sophomore. Senior Jess Delvisicio also wrapped up a stellar CAC career in style, finishing seventh to collect her fourth consecutive All-CAC first team nod. Sophomore Emma Rogers and Haberstroh also nabbed first-team awards for the Spartans, while freshman Taylor Barkdoll landed on the second team.

Joining Weisbeck on the All-CAC squad for second-place UMW were fellow senior Emily Knerr and freshman Cameron Delean. Knerr finished in second place to give the Eagles a one-two finish at the championships, while Delean placed 11th to collect second team honors. Knerr concludes her CAC career as a three-time all-conference honoree, also earning second team honors in 2017 and 2015.

Christopher Newport, which finished third in the team standings, placed a quartet of runners on the All-CAC teams. Junior Monica Lannen paced the Captains as a repeat first-teamer following her third-place individual finish. Juniors Samantha Dickerson and Jessica Lee along with freshman Logan Funk grabbed second-team honors for CNU with top-16 placings. Lee was a repeat All-CAC performer after capturing first-team and Rookie of the Year awards in 2016.

The Salisbury duo of junior Ashley Mazer and freshman Catie Cambon represented the Sea Gulls on the All-CAC second team. Mazer was also a second-team runner in 2017.

St. Mary's sophomore Kara Taylor placed fifth overall to represented the Seahawks on the All-CAC first team, while Southern Virginia freshman Jill Westman claimed the final All-CAC spot on the second team with her 16th-place finish.
