PENN STATE HARRISBURG TEAM PREVIEW

Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field

Penn State Harrisburg’s men’s and women’s track & field programs will look to build off last year’s success heading into the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Indoor Championships this winter. The Lions currently have three student-athletes in Jalil Clayton (60m hurdles), Rae Rae Taylor (Pentathlon) and Sarah Lehman (Triple Jump) ranked in the top 16 in the nation in their respective events. Lehman is coming off a freshman campaign that saw her earn CAC Rookie of the Year honors to go along with a conference title in the triple jump, while Taylor was the conference champion in the long jump event. The duo have combined for three CAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week accolades to this point in the season. Clayton has earned a pair of CAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors so far this year, while jumper Alex White picked up a CAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week award in December. Clayton, White and thrower Cameron Yon look poised not only to score valuable points in their events but also to make a push for CAC titles and all-conference recognition. Combined with newcomers Aiyala McPhee (sprints) and Neeyah Turner (sprints) on the women’s side, as well Andrew Bomgardner (pole vault), Shammah Gahomera (hurdles) and Dominick Hogans (sprints) on the men’s side, both squads will try to improve on last season’s team finishes next weekend.
