SOUTHERN VIRGINIA TEAM PREVIEW
Men's Preview:
The Knights are anchored by their depth in the throws led by senior and CAC Indoor shot put champion Derek Blasko. Blasko currently sits atop the CAC in the shot put with nearly a meter lead on the second best mark while also positioned in second in the javelin and sixth in the discus. Teammates, Hector Magallanes and Grady Sami add depth and strength to the throws.
On the track, sprinter and hurdler Daniel de la Cruz leads the Knights as he is currently leading the CAC with the fastest time in the 400 meter hurdles. Freshman distance runner Hunter Lund will look to steal some points in his respective events.
Women's Preview:
The Knights throwers have been a force in the CAC led by CAC Rookie of the Year Baylee Mulitalo. Mulitalo leads the CAC in both the shot put and the hammer while also positioned second in the discus.
Mesi Havea is second in the hammer, third in the discus and fifth in the shot put. Ella Burrows adds depth in the shot put where she has the third best mark in the CAC. Additional throwers that look to score are Kanani Lasike (discus), Elle Warnick (javelin) and Madeleine Maher (shot put).
In jumps, Abigail Kinoshi and Bethany Maggert look to score while Jill Westman and Elora Smith will try to steal some points in the distance events.
