Two schools to become active DIII members on Sept. 1

Four other institutions make progress in the provisional and reclassifying membership process

Asbury University and Warren Wilson College are set to become NCAA Division III members for the 2024-25 academic season after successfully completing the provisional membership process. Asbury University is moving from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, while Warren Wilson had been in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Division III Membership Committee approved the division's newest members at its summer meeting in Indianapolis. The Division III membership will total 425 schools in 2024-25.

Additionally, Hartford, reclassifying from Division I, advanced to year three of the membership process.

Lyon (NAIA) advanced to year three of the provisional membership process, while Carlow (NAIA) advanced to year two.

Penn State Brandywine (USCAA) is set to begin the three-year provisional membership process.

Regent University (National Christian College Athletic Association) and Johnson & Wales University Charlotte (USCAA) begin their Division III exploratory year next month. Those schools are expected to apply for provisional membership in 2025.

The Division III Management Council reviewed all membership decisions during its meeting July 22-23.

All changes in schools' statuses will take effect Sept. 1.
