Formed in 1989, the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) is a 6-member coalition of four-year, co-educational institutions that promotes intercollegiate athletic competition among schools located in close geographic proximity that have similar educational and athletic philosophies. The CAC strives to develop a harmony of good feeling and a spirit of competitive sportsmanship, fellowship, and uniformity of practice among member institutions. Conference members are required to operate their intercollegiate athletic programs under the highest ethical standards and to maintain a program consistent with the overall educational philosophy of the member institutions. Five CAC member institutions sponsor the sports of men's and women's track & field - Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, Salisbury, Southern Virginia, and York.

Graham Field @ York College

Graham Field is the home to the men's and women's soccer teams while the surrounding all weather track is home to the Spartan men's and women's track and field programs. The Sport-Turf Field is a regulation collegiate pitch which has hosted a number of NCAA Division III Tournament matches. Graham Field is a soccer-only facility and provides York student-athletes with a top-notch pitch. The field has spector seating for over 700 fans and a pressbox serves as home to the working press and game management staff for both Graham and Kinsley Fields. There are also restrooms and a concession stand located next to the main grandstand.
