Oates chosen for NABC All-District 5, D3hoops.com All-Region 5 First Teams

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team picked up its first All-District honoree since the 2021-22 campaign as Jordan Oates landed on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-District 5 and the D3hoops.com All-Region 5 First Teams, announced by the organizations on Tuesday afternoon.

Oates, a graduate forward from Hanover, Md., finished an illustrious Sea Gull career with his best season yet, averaging a career-best 17.6 points per game while leading the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) in rebounding for the third consecutive season at 12.5 boards per outing. Oates occupied numerous spots in the national statistical rankings, finishing second in DIII in double-doubles (21), fourth in total rebounds (363), seventh in rebounding average, 27th in blocks (53) and 44th in blocks per game (1.83).

His defensive development drew attention as the fifth-year phenom locked down C2C Defensive Player of the Year honors for the first time in his career. Oates had earned the C2C's Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor in each of the prior two seasons, the first Sea Gull in team history to earn the academic accolade.

The Atholton High School product used this stellar season to scale the Sea Gull record books, thoroughly leaving his mark on Sea Gull basketball. He became just the third player in program history behind the legendary Andre Foreman '92 and Howard Shockley '76 to record 1,500 career points and 1,200 career rebounds, ranking fifth in team history in scoring (1,528) and fourth in rebounds (1,216) while occupying second in offensive rebounds (341) and third all-time in blocks (116).

The 2025 Jostens Trophy finalist stands fourth in career rebounds among all active DIII student-athletes. His 55 career double-doubles are the fifth-most of any active DIII student-athlete as well.

Oates becomes the first Sea Gull since former teammate Gary Briddell '22 to be tabbed an NABC All-District selection and the second under head coach Maurice "Mo" Williams. His all-region nod is the second of his Sea Gull career and his first nod for the first team, making him eligible for D3hoops.com All-America consideration as well.
