The honor for Martin is her second in as many days and her second All-American nod. On Tuesday, the lefthanded pitcher from Lorton, Va., was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Martin was a second team All-American in 2022 following her freshman season that culminated with CNU's first National Championship.
Martin graduated from CNU earlier this month and majored in Neuroscience with minors in Leadership Studies and Chemistry, and was selected the C2C's Softball Scholar/Athlete of the Year. For her career, Martin won 62 games and lost just 13 with a career ERA of 1.44. She posted 541 strikeouts in 456 innings, while walking just 81. Martin was honored as the National Freshman of the Year in 2022, and following the completion of her career, had her number 28 retired by CNU Head Coach
Keith Parr.
The All-American accolades are the first for Christopher Newport since the 2022 Championship season, when Martin,
