Stockman captures second consecutive NFCA/Rawlings Gold Glove

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Catcher Emily Stockman of the 11th-ranked Salisbury University softball team has been recognized as the top defensive backstop in all of NCAA Division III, for the second consecutive year. Stockman earned the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/Rawlings Gold Glove Award for the position on Thursday afternoon.

Stockman, a senior from Brunswick, Md., started all 45 of the Sea Gulls' games on the year, recording 171 defensive putouts with 18 assists and only two errors, earning a .990 fielding percentage. She also caught seven runners attempting to steal a base.

Her bat was just as strong at the plate as she was behind it, batting .333 with 26 runs scored on 47 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, 12 home runs, and 45 RBIs.

"I am so thrilled for Emily," said Sea Gull head softball coach Lacey Lord. "She had another incredible season, and being named the Rawlings Golden Glove catcher, for a second year straight, is just an incredible honor. There is no doubt she is the best defensive catcher in Division III softball!"

Stockman played a big role in helping Salisbury finish the 2025 season with 36 wins and a fifth consecutive NCAA regional championship. She finished her career with a .992 fielding percentage, 22 runners caught stealing, a .301 batting average with 138 hits in 459 at-bats during 181 games played as a Sea Gull. Stockman posted 25 home runs along with 112 RBIs in her Sea Gull softball campaign.

Presented annually by the NFCA and selected by the NFCA All-America committees, the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards recognize the top nine defensive players from all collegiate divisions. The inaugural Division I recipients were honored in 2022, and in 2023, the award expanded to include all levels of college softball.
