ROCHESTER, Ny. – The UC Santa Cruz men's and women's track and field team saw
Eric Anderson and
Elena Stanciu run their way into UCSC history as the duo earned First and Second Team All-American honors at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at Nazareth University.
Eric Anderson got the day started with a fourth place finish in the mile, running a season's best time of 4:07.72. Anderson took out the opening lap in 31.49 seconds, sitting in fifth before charging forward to second place at the 400m mark, holding that position for the next 400m. Anderson briefly dropped to third but at the 1200m split, Anderson jumped back into second. Anderson's last two lap splits were 30.11s and 29.40s but the field went with him as the pace increased. At the finish line, Anderson took fourth overall to add another All-American trophy to his collection.
In her NCAA Championship debut,
Elena Stanciu earned Second Team All-American honors after a 10th place performance in the mile, crossing the line in 5:04.75. Stanciu's finish earns her Second Team honors, giving UC Santa Cruz two All-Americans in their first trip to NCAAs with a male and female qualifier.
