SALISBURY, Md. – After tallying 10 points across a pair of ranked victories last week,
Mary Hanzsche of the fourth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team was named the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Player of the Week,
as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.
Hanzsche, a senior from Berwyn, Pa., helped her squad to key victories over fourth-ranked Gettysburg on March 13 and 16th-ranked Roanoke on March 16. Hanzsche set career marks in points (7) and goals (4) against the Bullets while adding another three points on one goal and two assists versus the Maroons.
The national weekly honor is the first of Hanzsche's career and comes one day after
being named the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
The Sea Gulls are back in action Saturday, traveling to Washington, D.C. for a neutral-site showdown with 22nd-ranked Chicago on the campus of the Catholic University of America. The contest is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start from Carlini Field.
