Brookelyn Morrison Named All-American by Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- After starring for the Christopher Newport women's lacrosse team throughout the spring season, Brookelyn Morrison was named a third-team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Friday afternoon.

With the prestigious honor, Morrison became just the fifth Captain to earn national plaudits from the IWLCA. In that exclusive club, she joined CNU Hall of Famer Meaghan Galvin and longtime legends Sarah Culver, Kelsey Winters, and Julia Iapicca.

Previously, Morrison was also named an All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine last week. With her second award, she joined Winters and Iapicca as the only players to earn national recognition from both organizations in the same season.

One of the most well-rounded standouts in program history, Morrison continued to dominate in all facets of the game throughout a remarkable junior season. During the 2025 campaign, she led the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference with 43 takeaways and 42 ground balls. Her 43 caused turnovers also marked the second-highest total in school lore, while her 98 draw controls placed her second on the league leaderboard and fourth in program history.

Just as effective on the offensive end, Morrison produced 47 points, which slotted her seventh in the league. Incredibly, she was one of only 12 players in the entire NCAA to finish the year with at least 40 takeaways, 40 rollers, 40 draws, and 40 points.

On the defensive side, she forced at least one turnover in all 19 games, marking the longest single-season streak in school history. Among her highlights on the back end, she had four strips in each of her first two games of the season after tormenting Lynchburg on February 15 and St. Mary's (Md.) on February 22. Later, she matched that total with four more takeaways against Shenandoah on March 1 and during the league playoffs against Mary Washington on April 30.

Equally impressive in the center of the turf, Morrison controlled at least two draws in 18 appearances. She hauled in 10 at Swarthmore on March 16 before tying the single-game school record with 14 draw controls in a win at No. 17 Roanoke on April 5. For that latter performance, she was celebrated as the league's Defensive Player of the Week on April 7.

Just as effective against top-flight competition throughout the year, she came back with nine more draws against No. 9 Washington and Lee on April 26 after nabbing five against No. 4 Gettysburg on March 12.

Meanwhile, on the offensive end, Morrison torched opposing defenses with a consistent assault. The third-year star notched at least one point in 16 tilts and had seven multi-goal eruptions. She eventually broke her own school record with eight man-up goals, while her 10 free-position tallies equaled the third-most in the league. Additionally, she ranked fourth among conference competitors with a .476 shooting percentage and sixth with 17 assists.

Saving her finest moment of the year for the postseason, she collected six goals and nine total points during the conference semifinals against Mary Washington on April 30. Equally dominant during the regular season, she also banked six points against the Eagles on April 12 after notching five goals at Randolph-Macon on February 26. Meanwhile, against top-25 competition, she posted two strikes against No. 21 Denison on March 29 and had three points, including a pair of helpers, against No. 5 Salisbury on April 19.

For her work during the year, Morrison was also a first-team All-Conference and All-Region selection to go along with her two All-American citations.

In her career, the Ashburn, Virginia native already owns the program record with 120 caused turnovers, while her 241 draw controls place her second on the school's all-time charts. Additionally, she slots first with 19 man-up tallies while boasting 107 total goals and 153 points.
