PENN STATE HARRISBURG TEAM PREVIEW

Men's Preview

Penn State Harrisburg’s men will once again be led by seniors Cameron Yon and Jalil Clayton. Yon currently leads the country with the top toss among NCAA Division III athletes in the discus throw by more than three meters (56.27m). He looks poised to make another push for all-America honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in a few weeks. After being named the CAC Men’s Indoor Athlete of the Year in February, Clayton should prove versatile in a variety of events at this weekend’s meet. He currently ranks 10th in the country and first in the CAC with a time of 14.57 seconds in the 110m hurdles. Junior Alex White will compete in the jump events and should make some noise as evidenced by indoor conference title in the high jump and his top leap of 7.25 meters in the long jump this spring; a number good enough to rank 10th in the nation. Freshman Dominick Hogans has impressed in the sprint events this year, sophomore Shammah Gahomera will fit right in with the conference’s top hurdlers and junior Andrew Bomberger will look to secure another medal in the pole vault.

Women's Preview

Penn State Harrisburg’s women’s squad will be anchored by sophomores Rae Rae Taylor and Sarah Lehman. Taylor scored more than 40 individual points at the CAC Indoor Championships en route to being named the conference’s women’s athlete of the year and she’ll again be called on to compete in a variety of events. She currently ranks ninth in the nation in the heptathlon with 4,550 points. Lehman is the reigning CAC Rookie of the Year and ranks 10th in the country in the triple jump with a top leap of 11.77 meters. Both will compete as members of the Lions’ relay teams alongside sprinters Neeyah Turner, Sephora Senestant and Aiyala McPhee. Turner, a sophomore, will also compete in mid-distance events and along with Senestant, a freshman, will take part in hurdle events as well. McPhee looks to return to form in the short sprints after a strong indoor campaign.
