MEN

The Spartan men’s swim squad enters the 2020 CAC Championships looking to build on a strong 8-2 season. The Spartans are led by junior Jake Halem and senior Greg Williams. Halem posted ten individual wins during the year while he also had a trio of runner-up finishes. He was also a part of four winning relay teams. Halem is ranked first in the CAC in the 100 IM, first in the 50 fly, first in the 100 fly, second in the 200 IM, second in the 400 free, second in the 100 breaststroke, fourth in the 200 breaststroke and eighth in the 100 free. 

Williams earned nine first place finishes and four second place results during the year. Williams was a part of a team-high seven winning relay teams. Williams is third in the CAC in the 100 backstroke and sixth in the 200 backstroke. 

Junior Connor McIlroy is third on the team in individual wins with seven while he also has four seconds. He is ranked first in the 400 free, fourth in the 500 free, and fifth in the CAC in the 200 free.

 
WOMEN

The Spartan women’s team enters their final Capital Athletic Conference championships looking to try to catch Mary Washington for the conference title. The Spartans went 8-2 during the regular season and had a number of strong performances. 

The Green and White are led by senior Justine Wantz as she recorded a team-high 13 individual wins while she also notched one second place finish. Wantz also led the team with seven relay wins. Wantz has the second best times in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke events while she is also third in the 50 free, and ninth in the 100 free, 

Junior Maggie Stein earned seven first place finishes during the year while she also had five seconds and three thirds. She also a part of four winning relay teams. Stein is ranked first in the CAC in the 400 free, seventh in the 200 free, and tenth in the CAC in the 100 free.

Alyssa Coon and Kristin Bria are tied for third on the team with six individual wins. Sydney Davidson has come on late in the season as she owns the CAC’s best time in the 50 breaststroke while she has the second best time in the 100 breaststroke.
