Formed in 1989, the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) is 6-member coalition of four-year, co-educational institutions that promotes intercollegiate athletic competition among schools located in close geographic proximity that have similar educational and athletic philosophies. All eight CAC member institutions sponsor the sports of men's and women's cross country - Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, St. Mary's, Salisbury, Southern Virginia, and York.

Reservoir Park next to the campus of York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pa. will serve as the site of the 2019 CAC Cross Country Championships.
