Salisbury Juniors Tom Labriola and Ryan Daiss Collect CAC Baseball Weekly Honors
YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury swept this week's awards as juniors Tom Labriola and Ryan Daiss collected CAC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for March 14, 2016.

Salisbury junior Tom Labriola earned CAC Player of the Week accolades after batting .706 with 12 hits and 11 RBIs in a 4-0 week for the Sea Gulls. He was consistent all week, collecting three hits in each game, including three combined CAC wins over Christopher Newport and Southern Virginia. Labriola hit three doubles and one triple and also had at least two RBIs in each game, totaling 11 to lead the team. He posted a 1.000 slugging percentage with 17 total bases for the week.

Salisbury junior Ryan Daiss received CAC Pitcher of the Week honors after tossing a complete-game two-hitter against Southern Virginia on Saturday. Daiss recorded seven strikeouts and walked two, allowing just one run throughout his nine innings of work. The win was the first for Daiss this season and the first complete game for a member of the Sea Gulls' pitching staff this year.

Last week was the first full week of CAC baseball action, as all 10 teams have now played at least two conference contests ... Four CAC teams are ranked in the D3baseball.com National Poll, with Frostburg State at No. 8, Mary Washington at No. 12, Salisbury at No. 13, and Christopher Newport at No. 17 ... CNU's Connor Henderson extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a base knock in all four games. Tommy Vitaletti had five extra-base hits last week including three home runs ... Frostburg State's Connor Cooper drove in four runs, registered five hits and scored twice as the Bobcats split with Penn State Harrisburg. He finished with a .500 average in 10 at-bats ... Marymount's Brandon Orbe posted a .471 batting average in a 4-0 week for the Saints, including a doubleheader sweep of No. 12 Mary Washington. Marymount leads the league and the NCAA in stolen bases with 56, 10 better than the second-place team in the CAC. John LaMotta won two games as reliever last week for the Saints. LaMotta has made 11 appearances on the hill this season, the most in the league and tied for the most in the country ... Penn State Harrisburg's Mark Artley recorded 12 strikeouts in a complete-game 4-3 victory against Frostburg State ... Southern Virginia's Jordan Nase leads the Knights with a batting average of .313 this season. He scored twice in win over UMW ... Wesley's Chris Seibert continued his torrid start to the season with a 5-for-12 effort in three conference games this week. The second baseman had seven RBIs, four runs scored, and blasted two home runs in Saturday's doubleheader against York. The sophomore is hitting .511 to begin the season. Sam Meck tossed a complete-game three-hitter against York on Saturday, allowing one earned run on three hits with three strikeouts in a 7-1 win ... York senior outfielder Sean Mohollen hit .526 with three runs scored, three doubles, five RBIs and stolen base in York's five games last week.
