Victoria (Tori) Dunbar is in her sophomore year at Wesley College, but she’s marking a mark at the Dover, Del., campus. She hopes to parlay her nursing education into a program that will help third-world countries. She’s the leader of the campus Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (and a member of the CAC SAAC). She’s one of more than a half dozen women to play on both the Wolverines field hockey and lacrosse teams. And she scored one of the shootout goals that lifted the 2012 field hockey squad into the CAC Championship game for the second-straight year. INTRODUCING … Tori Dunbar.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2011 Longstreth/ NFHCA Division III All-American Teams and Salisbury had two players honored. Seniors Tara McGovern and Courtney Webster were each named to the second team. With these two selections, the program has recorded 86 All-Americans since 1974.

Salisbury has been the top-ranked field hockey team in the country for more than a month and went undefeated vs. CAC foes to win the conference regular-season and tournament championships. The No. 1 Salisbury University field hockey team earned an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament with a win over Wesley College in the Capital Athletic Conference championship on Saturday evening at Sea Gull Stadium. With the win, the Gulls anxiously awaited the release of the 2011 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship bracket. Once revealed, Salisbury learned it would host second and third-round games of the tournament.
