NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury moved up one spot to No. 3 in last week's Penn Monto / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, while Mary Washington and York are two of five teams receiving votes ... With two weeks remaining in the CAC regular season, Salisbury is the lone unbeaten in conference play at 3-0, while York (3-1), Christopher Newport (2-1), and Mary Washington (2-1) each have one loss. Wesley (1-2) and St. Mary's (1-3) each have one win, while Frostburg State (0-4) is still seeking its first conference victory ... CNU goalkeeper Bailey Lien allowed just one goal while posting three victories during the week. The senior shut out St. Mary's, 7-0, on Wednesday, before blanking Wesley, 4-0, on Friday. She made three stops against the Seahawks to earn her 50th career victory, becoming just the 25th player in Division III history and the fourth active player at any level to reach that mark. Later, she came back with seven saves to wrap up the week with a 3-1 triumph over Rhodes ... Frostburg State fell to Salisbury and Shenandoah last week. Senior goalkeeper Jacqueline Gover totaled nine saves in the two games, including seven against the Sea Gulls ... Sophomore Alaina Shivers scored a pair of goals to lead Mary Washington to an 8-1 win at Randolph Macon on Friday in the team's only action of the week ... Salisbury's Annah Brittingham was stellar in 6-2 win against York, figuring in four of the Sea Gulls' goals. Brittingham notched two goals and two assists in the key CAC win for SU ... Wesley's Lauren Niezgoda scored three goals last week, including game-winners vs. Shenandoah and Hendrix. The forward has scored seven goals this year, leading the Wolverines and ranking ninth in the CAC ... Ali Posey helped York to a 1-1 week with three goals and one defensive save, including the game-winner vs. St. Mary's. Posey scored twice against the Seahawks, marking her second multi-goal game of the season and eighth of her career. Posey has 24 points this year on 10 goals and four assists.
