Catholic University, the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) tournament champion put three players on the men’s basketball All-CAC teams as released today by the conference office.

Catholic University, the #2 seed, claimed the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) men’s basketball tournament championship with an 85-75 victory over top-seeded Hood College on Saturday evening.

UMW's Baker, Bruen Named Finalists for Jostens National Players of the Year Award

University of Mary Washington seniors Justin Baker and Debbie Bruen have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Jostens Trophy, as announced today by members of the Rotary Club of Salem, Va. The club is responsible for the initial review of annual nominations and narrowed the pool down to ten men and ten women finalists.

Hood College, in their first season of competition in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC), will enter the 2007 CAC tournament as the number one seed on Tuesday evening, February 20, and play host to #8 Goucher College.

Hood College junior center Jesse Gutekunst (Hagerstown, MD/South Hagerstown) has been named as the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 21. This is the second week in a row that Gutekunst has won this award.
