Wesley Junior Rasahn Brinkley Named CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. -- Wesley junior Rasahn Brinkley was selected as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 16, 2015.

Wesley junior guard Rasahn Brinkley was named the CAC Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning basket with 1.9 seconds remaining in the Wolverines' 92-91 win over second-ranked Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday. Brinkley finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, none more crucial than his putback in the closing seconds. On Wesley's final possession, Brinkley grabbed an offensive rebound and finished a layup to propel the Wolverines to the upset win.

In the D3hoops.com Preseason National Rankings, Salisbury (7) and Christopher Newport (4) each received votes ... CAC men's basketball teams began the 2015-16 season in impressive fashion last weekend, combining for a 10-1 opening-weekend record ... Penn State Harrisburg and Salisbury took home tournament titles ... Tim Daly led a balanced effort for Christopher Newport in a season-opening victory over Lynchburg with a team-high 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists ... Mary Washington junior T.J. Jones started his UMW career with a team-high 26 points as the Eagles defeated Randolph-Macon, 83-66, on Sunday. He made 9-of-18 field goal attempts, including 3-of-8 three pointers, and made 5-of-7 free throws. He added three assists and three rebounds in the season-opening win. John Lutkenhaus added 15 points, and Eric Shaw posted 12 points for UMW, who shot 53.6% from the field ... Marymount opened its campaign on Saturday with a 76-68 road win at Kean, led by career days from senior Danny Ferry and sophomore Dmitri Rucker. Ferry led the way with 21 points, including four three-pointers, a career-high seven assists and eight rebounds. Rucker notched his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds ... Penn State Harrisburg defeated Rutgers-Camden and Lebanon Valley to capture its tournament title. Arick Sodini was named Tournament MVP while Jazmon Harris earned All-Tournament Team honors ... Tanner Brooks picked up All-Tournament Team honors as St. Mary's finished 1-1 at its own Dan Greene Memorial Invitational. Brooks contributed 18 points in the win over Bridgewater before pouring in 34 points, just two shy of his Seahawk career-high, in the title game loss to John Carroll ... Salisbury won the Widener Tipoff Tournament with wins over Rowan and Widener. Gordon Jeter was named Tournament MVP while Justin Witmer also earned All-Tournament team honors ... Dalton Myers led York to a season-opening win at Stevenson on Friday with 17 points and seven rebounds. Myers blocked two shots and added two steals in a team-high 35 minutes of work.
