FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- York senior guard Jason Bady earned Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Feb. 11, 2019.

York senior guard Jason Bady had another big week for the first place Spartans as York remained tied for first place with a pair of victories for the week. Bady began his week with a career-high tying 35 points including scoring his 1,000th career point and hitting the game-winning free throw with 1.4 seconds left against Salisbury. Bady went 12-for-18 from the floor and 1-for-2 from three while he also went 10-for-11 from the free throw line. Bady also had eight rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot in 39 minutes of work. His lone free throw miss was an intentional misfire at the end of the game. Bady followed that with 18 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in the road win at St. Mary's. Bady was 7-for-11 including 2-for-3 from three and 2-for-3 from the line. Bady finished the week averaging 26.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as he shot 65.6% from the floor, 60% from three and 85.7% from the free throw line. Bady ranks second in the league in scoring, sixth in rebounding, sixth in free throw percentage, sixth in field goal percentage, and fifth in blocked shots per game.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Salisbury's Blair Davis nearly missed out on averaging a triple-double on Saturday and was not far off in averaging such this week in two CAC contests. A playmaker all year, the point guard tied a career high with eight assists against Southern Virginia, including the assist that led to Salisbury's seven-point possession in the closing minute to put the game away. To go with the eight helpers, he had 16 points, nine rebounds and a pair of steals. In Salisbury's contest at York, Davis was good for 23 points and eight rebounds and four steals. In the two games he rarely sat, playing 70 of the possible 80 minutes...Mary Washington's Johnny Cronin posted an outstanding week as Mary Washington won a pair of games in CAC action. On Wednesday, he made 8-11 field goal attempts en route to 16 points to go with seven rebounds in an 83-72 win over St. Mary's. On Saturday for Senior Day, Cronin scored 20 points on 8-13 shooting and grabbed 15 rebounds in a 68-62 win over Penn State Harrisburg. For the week, he netted 18.0 PPG, shooting 66.7% from the field, and averaged 11 rebounds per game, with a 5-1 assist to turnover ratio...Penn State Harrisburg's Kahlil Williams averaged a double-double to lead Penn State Harrisburg last week. The senior posted 17 points, 13 rebounds and a pair of blocks to earn the Lions the season sweep of Frostburg State thanks to an 86-67 victory on Wednesday night before netting a game-high 24 points to go along with 10 boards in a narrow defeat at Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon. For the week, the Philadelphia native averaged 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.5 rejections per contest, while shooting an efficient 63.6 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the foul line...Southern Virginia's Trey Dill averaged a double-double for the week, the first back-to-back in his young career for the Knights, recording 11.5 points per game and 13 rebounds...Christopher Newport's Marcus Carter finished one point shy of a double-double against Southern Virginia and notched a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double against Frostburg State in a pair of close wins for the Captains ... Playing with a knee brace, Carter still managed to play 31.6 minutes per game htis week while averaging 12.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game ... Also added 4 assists and a block ... Moved up to 8th on the CNU all-time scoring chart ... One of only 18 active Division III players and the only CAC men's basketball player with at least 1,500 career points and 600 rebounds.
