FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Marymount sophomore John David Coffin was honored as the CAC Men's Golfer of the Week for April 10, 2018.

Marymount sophomore John David Coffin was honored as the CAC Men's Golfer of the Week after posting a career tournament last week, taking third place at the two-day Lynchburg Invitational with a total of four-over-par 148. Coffin opened play with a five-over 77 one day one, before recording his first-ever under-par round at the collegiate level with a second-day score of one-under 71. His 71 moved him up 14 spots in the standings into third place, and was the low round of the tournament on day two.

Christopher Newport and Mary Washington are receiving votes in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) national rankings ... Several CAC teams have now wrapped up their regular seasons and are preparing for the upcoming CAC Championship ... The 2018 CAC Golf Championships are set for Apr. 19-21 at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va. ... Mary Washington sophomore Phillip Manceri won three of his four matches as the Eagles finished seventh among 16 teams at the Division III Match Play Championship in Greensboro. Manceri won matches against Otterbein 2&1, Wittenberg 5&3, and Transylvania 4&3. Hi only loss came against UT-Tyler, the No. 6 team in the country ... Southern Virginia sophomore Cameron Speyer shot his season best in round one of the Lynchburg Invitational, placing fourth with a 74. Shot a 76 day two to finish seventh overall ... Wesley senior Tyler Spielberger led the Wolverines at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic with an 83 to tie for 24th place ... York picked up its third tournament victory of the year, erasing an 11-stroke day one deficit to earn the title at the McDaniel College Spring Tournament on Sunday at the Bridges Golf Club. The Spartans were paced by junior Tyler Newton, who shot a two-day total of 154 (81-73) to tie for sixth individually.
