FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Erica Whitehouse and Babson freshman Nicholas Gianelos earned CAC Golfer of the Week awards for April 1, 2019.

Babson freshman Nicholas Gianelos recorded his first collegiate victory shooting 71-74 to finish first by one stroke with a 3-over total of 145 at the NYU Invitational. His opening round 71 matched his lowest score of the season as 22nd-ranked Babson opened the spring with a 15-shot victory at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J.

Christopher Newport sophomore Erica Whitehouse defended her title at the Max & Susan Stith Invitational last week and won individual medalist honors after firing a three-over 147 (71-76). She won the tournament by ten strokes over teammate Katie Thome (+13) and helped CNU capture the team title by 53 strokes. She opened the two-day tournament with a one-under 71, marking her second round under par this season, and finished the 36-hole event with a four-over 76. This marks the third time this season Whitehouse has collected this honor.

Mary Washington's Phillip Manceri gained medalist honors at the UMW Eagle Invitational this weekend, shooting a 75-71 (+4) as the Eagles took first place in the team standings in their home tournament at Augustine Golf Club...Southern Virginia's Nate Ouimette started off the week with a win over spring break at the Shenandoah Spring Invitational at St. Cloud, Florida shooting a combined 146 for the tournament. He followed up winning the dual match at the Battle at Lexington this past weekend after shooting a 70 for the day...Mary Washington's Andrea Dill gained medalist honors at the UMW Eagles Invitational this weekend, posting a 75-80=155 (+13), to claim first place by three strokes.Last weekend, she finished tied for sixth at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, shooting an 87-85 as the Eagles' top scorer.
