FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Salisbury senior Zach Pompea & junior Brandon Warren swept the CAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards for April 1, 2019.

Salisbury senior midfielder Zach Pompea notched the 100th point of his career in a 15-3 win over University of Mary Washington turning a team-best performance netting four goals in the conference opening win. Pompe scored two of the team's six first quarter goals as part of a 6-0 run to open the contest before notching the only two goals of the second quarter netting one man up marker, to assist in the teams 4-of-4 mark for the afternoon, and an unassisted even strength goal. It is Pompea's second hat trick of the season and sixth consecutive game registering at least one goal. He would also add one goal and a team-high fours assists in a 13-5 victory over No. 6 Cabrini University on Wednesday, March 27. For the week Pompea posted a shot on goal percentage of 72.7 converting on eight of his 11 total shots.

Salisbury junior goalkeeper Brandon Warren helped the top ranked Salisbury men's lacrosse team to a 2-0 week, which included a victory over No. 6 Cabrini University. Warren tallied 11 saves in the win over the Cavaliers, marking the fourth double-digit save performance of the season for him. After allowing two early first quarter tallies by Cabrini Warren allowed just three more goals over the final 52 minutes of action. He followed up that performance a five save day against Mary Washington holding the Eagles scoreless over the final 45 minutes after allowing just three first quarter goals. His 60.1 saver percentage ranks second in the CAC while 6.18 GAA ranks first.

Frostburg's Matthew Ward scored four goals and handed out one assist in Frostburg's 14-10 loss at Elizabethtown...Against No. 5 York (Pa.) on Saturday, CNU's Lucas Barry led the Captains with a pair of goals. That marked his 11th consecutive multi-goal effort this season. It also marked the 17th straight game in which Barry has scored at least one goal dating back to last year, which equals the second-longest run in program history...St. Mary's Jude Brown led the Seahawks on the offensive end with six points off of four goals and two assists. Brown's six points led the Seahawks to 1-0 record on the week with a 22-17 victory over Southern Virginia. In addition, Brown scooped up one ground ball...York's Brendan McGrath led the Spartans to a commanding 13-4 win over CNU in the Spartans' CAC opener on Saturday. McGrath notched a game-high six points on four goals and two assists. He also had two ground balls and one caused turnover. For the season, McGrath has scored 32 points on 26 goals and six assists. He also has 19 ground balls and five caused turnovers...Southern Virginia's Zach Danneman has been consistent for the Knights offense collecting another seven-goal game for the fourth time of the season. He added two assists for nine points in the loss to the Seahawks. He shot 58.3 percent on the week while shooting on goal at an impressive 91.7 percent. Danneman ranks sixth in the country and leads the CAC in goals per game at 4.45 and is 12th in country in points per game at 5.73.
