YORK, Pa. -- St. Mary's sophomore Nick Tait and Salisbury senior Kyle Westbrook were selected as the CAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week for Sept. 8.

St. Mary's sophomore Nick Tait was honored as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after netting a goal in each game as the Seahawks posted a 3-0 week. Tait notched game-winners vs. Bridgewater (Va.) and Baldwin Wallace as St. Mary's finished second at its own Seahawk Classic. In the Bridgewater game, Tait netted the game-winning goal with just 2:09 remaining in regulation as he worked his way around a couple of defenders before firing in a shot into the lower right corner past a diving keeper.

Salisbury senior Kyle Westbrook was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Sea Gull defense to its first two shutouts of the season in wins over Baldwin Wallace and Bridgewater. Westbrook and the Salisbury defense allowed at total of just nine shots on goal throughout the two contests. The Sea Gulls captured the tournament title at the Seahawk Classic.

Christopher Newport jumped into the NSCAA National Rankings last week at #17 ... CNU senior Jalon Brown scored a hat trick against N.C. Wesleyan and vaulted to fifth all-time at CNU in goals scored (36) and total points (96) ... Mary Washington sophomores Elvin Arbaiza and Carlos Mendoza were named to the Fred Meyers Adidas Invitational All-Tournament team ... St. Mary's is off to its best five-game start since 2011 as the Seahawks own a 4-1 record and are riding a four-game win streak ... Salisbury senior Benjamin Aryeetey received MVP honors at the Seahawk Classic. Senior forward Matt Greene has now recorded points in all four games so far this season for the Sea Gulls ... Wesley senior Danny Ramirez recorded a goal and an assist against Gwynedd Mercy in the opener of the F&M/LVC Tournament that was lightning-shortened ... York freshman Joel Teston tallied a goal and an assist in the Spartans 2-2 tie with N.C. Wesleyan, including the equalizer with just 50 seconds remaining in regulation.
