Mary Washington senior ANDREW GAROFOLO (Richmond, Va./James River) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after leading the Eagles to wins over Frostburg State and Marymount. Garofolo won the 200 freestyle (2:03.38) and 400 freestyle (4:24.62) and was a member of the gold medal 200 freestyle relay (1:42.40).

Mary Washington senior PETER SLATTERY (Annandale, Va./Woodson) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after capturing two individual gold medals and contributing to a pair of relays in the Eagles’ victory over Gettysburg College. Slattery swept top honors in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.00), 200 breaststroke (2:15.90) and was a member of the victorious 200 medley relay (1:35.90). Slattery capped his final career home meet as a member of the all-senior 200 freestyle relay squad.

St. Mary’s senior CAMERON HEDQUIST (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning two events and setting a pool record in Saturday’s CAC victory at Salisbury. Hedquist’s time in the 400 freestyle snapped the previous pool record by three seconds. He also added a win in the 200 freestyle and anchored the victorious 400 medley relay. Hedquist was also one of SMC’s top performers in a loss at third-ranked Johns Hopkins, posting bronze-medal performances in the 100 backstroke and as anchor of the 200 medley relay.

Mary Washington sophomore ALEX ANDERSON (Vienna, Va./James Madison) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after he posted an NCAA “A” cut and two NCAA “B” cuts while leading the Eagles to third place at the Gettysburg Invitational. On Saturday morning, Anderson swam to a pool record and automatic cut for the NCAA Championships in finishing first in the 400 IM with a time of 3:57.03. He also swam to an NCAA provisional time in the 50 free at 20.89, and gained a second B cut in the 100 freestyle at 45.82.

York sophomore CODY LATCHFORD (New Castle, Del./William Penn) earned a pair of individual wins in the Spartans’ meet against Washington & Jefferson on Saturday. Latchford won the 100 and 200 free for the Spartans. He notched a time of 49.44 in the 100 and 1:49.09 in the 200. Latchford was also a part of the 200 medley relay team that finished second with a time of 1:42.78.

St. Mary’s junior THOR PETERSEN (Germantown, Md./Northwest) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after winning three gold medals in Saturday’s quad-meet at York. Petersen captured top honors in the 500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle and 200 butterfly for the Seahawks. He also chipped in with a victory in the 100 breaststroke in SMC’s midweek meet against Washington (Md.).

York freshman KYLE WALTHALL (Port Huereme, Calif. / Rio Mesa) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after he set the YCP school record in both the 100 breaststroke (58.88, also a school record) and 200 breaststroke (2:14.18) in the team’s opening meet at Mary Washington. Saturday against Marymount, Walthall notched a pool record of 1:00.36 in the 100 breaststroke and then finished second in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.73.
