Clendenin Records Lifetime Best In Placing 9th In 400 IM At NCAA Men's Swimming Championship
University of Mary Washington senior Stephen Clendenin (Ashburn, Va., Home Schooled) finished in ninth place in the 400 individual medley at the NCAA Division III Championships in Knoxville on Thursday.
Clendenin swam a lifetime best in the evening finals with a time
of 3:57.90, breaking his own school record. It is his second
lifetime best in as many events at the Championships this week.
In Thursday's morning preliminaries, junior Billy
Norfolk (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly) nearly qualified for
finals with a 19th place finish in the 100 yard butterfly. Norfolk
touched the pad with a time of 50.07, breaking his personal best by
.2 seconds.
