Senior Nick Eckhoff and sophomore Hugh Anderson each won one individual event and contributed to Mary Washington's victorious 400 medley relay as the Eagles jumped out to the lead in the team standings of the 2013 CAC Men's Swim Championship Friday.

Mary Washington scored 297 points in five events on the first day of the 2013 CAC Championship.  Host St. Mary's finished the day in second place (195), followed by Salisbury (117), York (100), Marymount (78) and Frostburg State (58).

After UMW opened the meet with a win in the 200 free relay, Eckhoff took top honors in the 500 freestyle (4:35.78).  Later, Anderson captured gold in the 50 freestyle (20.79), and they combined to form half of the first-place 400 medley relay (3:21.41) to end the night.  Both winning individual performances were NCAA "B" cut qualifying times.

Between Eckhoff and Anderson, St. Mary's senior Cameron Hedquist (1:55.71) and junior Jimmy Forest (157:94) combined to sweep the top two positions in the 200 IM.  Supporting Hedquist and Forest, sophomore Thor Petersen (1:59.17) and senior Bobby Witkop (1:59.42) finished fourth and fifth, giving the Seahawks four of the top five scorers in the event.
